Jack Kinder, Jr.
Before entering the business world, Jack was an athletic coach in chicago. He was an
insurance agent in Illinois with the Equitable. He became an agency head with his
company in Louisville in 1962. Later, Jack managed Equitable's leading sales organization
in Detroit. He became a regional vice president in Chicago and also served as a vice
president in the Equitable's home office in New York City. The kinders have developed
numerous audio and video cassettes on attitude, strategy and effectiveness. They have
also authored several best-selling books for salespeople and sales managers-Winning
Strategies in Selling, written with Roger Staubach, Positive Power of Successful Salespeople,
The Selling Heart, The Making of a Salespeerson and Upward Bound. Their most recent book
secrets of Successful Insurance Sales, written with W. Clement Stone, is already among the
industry's best sellers.
Garry D. Kinder
Garry Kinder, with his brother Jack, is in private practice as well-known sales and sales
management consultatnt to more than 300 companies throughout North America. Marshall Wolper
a past president of the Million Dollar Round Table, has said "The Kinder brothers are masters
in the presentation and strategy of selling. They have taught their procedures and techniques
directly to hundredes and indirectly to tens of thousands. "In 1956 at the age of 23, Garry
became the youngest agent in Illinois to achieve membership in the Million Dollar Round Table.
After spending four years as a saleman with the Equitable Life, he became a field manager in
Bloomington, Illinois; Akron, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan. In 1969 he was named regional vice
president for the Equitable in Dallas. Along with Jack, Gary has directed the popular Purdue
Management Institute for the past eighteen years.
